Number Plates fitted to UK vehicles before 1st September 2001 used a slightly wider 57mm font. The character width was slightly
reduced from 57mm to 50mm to accommodate the Euro-symbol from 1st September 2001.
Owners of vehicles registered before the 1st September 2001 may prefer to use the wider style Pre-2001 font to keep that authentic look.

If you select any of our Pre2001 fonts, you'll quicky notice that the Pre-2001 fonts are noticeably wider, there will not be any room for
a side badge unless unless you have a short registration. Plates from that era were mostly plain apart fron the registration, the only
option we recommend with Pre 2001 Fonts is our Border3, it can be customised by selecting a colour to match your vehicle paintwork.
